SPAR UK takes home 14 awards at the 2025 Retail Industry Awards

SPAR UK was recognised for excellence in convenience, community, and innovation at the 2025 Retail Industry Awards, taking home 14 awards.

Across different formats and innovations, SPAR UK retailers were rewarded for delivering best-in-class experiences to shoppers nationwide.

Standout winners

The SPAR Parkfoot supermarket in Kent, a third-generation family business, earned both Forecourt Retailer of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year. Known for its fresh food offer, sustainability focus, and the popular Parkfoot Eats kitchen, the store continues to serve as a community hub.

The McCammond SPAR Abbots Cross supermarket in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim also won two awards: Most Improved Store and Post Office Retailer of the Year. Sisters Becky and Lucy McCammond led a £620,000 transformation, revitalising the store and boosting local pride.

The Food-to-go Retailer of the Year was awarded to the SPAR The Old Dairy supermarket in Truro, Cornwall. Meanwhile, the SPAR Hawtree & Sons supermarket in West Stour, Dorset won Forecourt Retailer of the Year (over 3,001sqft), and the SPAR Monaghan Road supermarket in Armagh, Co. Armagh was crowned Chilled Retailer of the Year.

Leading the way in retail

Henderson Group, SPAR UK wholesaler for Northern Ireland, took home a magnificent seven awards on the night, including the coveted Convenience Retailer of the Year. One of Henderson’s flagship stores, the SPAR Malone Road supermarket, earned multiple accolades, including Forecourt Retailer of the Year, Post Office Retailer of the Year, and Store Team of the Year. Store Manager, Samuel McCann was named Store Manager of the Year for his leadership and vision.
