SPAR UK Partner, Blakemore Retail, has relocated its Thurcroft SPAR store in Rotherham and re-launched it as a new flagship supermarket.

The 280m² store, which is a brand new build, has opened its doors on the site of a former hotel in Rotherham. It has been updated to provide a wide range of Food-to-Go options and will be Blakemore Retail’s biggest flagship store to open this year.

The store has also been developed to include an extended fresh foods department, along with off-licence services and everyday essentials such as bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables.

The new site is situated in the centre of a housing estate and will improve convenience by providing free car parking to customers, with up to 30 parking spaces available.

The SPAR store also offers CollectPlus, PayPoint and National Lottery services as well as a free cash machine. A defibrillator has been fitted at the entrance to the store,in line with the increased focus on this important community initiative.

With the addition of new Food-to-Go departments, the SPAR UK Partner has created over 12 new jobs, bringing the store’s total number of staff to 30. The new store has been fitted with energy saving LED lighting throughout as well as chilled cabinets which are also designed to conserve energy. It is open 6am-11pm every day.
