The newly designed EUROSPAR market-style stalls offer an even wider range of fresh produce than before, much of it from regional producers. In addition to a diverse selection of fruits and vegetables, SPAR Switzerland has also installed a new zero-packaging dispenser solution for loose nuts. The cheese counter offers 100 different varieties and is a real treat for cheese lovers.
Regional sourcing is also a highlight of the butchery department in Davos-Dorf. The EUROSPAR store offers authentic and innovative meat products from the Davos/Prättigau region as well as homemade specialities. Fresh bread is delivered daily to the store from a local bakery and specialty baked goods from another local producer. Both stores provide customers with an extensive choice of locally sourced groceries and wines.
The EUROSPAR Supermarket in Davos-Platz has a self-service café corner with freshly brewed Bean Tree coffee. Both stores offer a large selection of freshly prepared food-to-go meals and snacks as well as chilled soft drinks for customers on the go. Self-scanning tills now available in both stores offer additional convenience to shoppers.
The EUROSPAR Supermarket in Davos-Platz is managed by Laura Barroso whilst Patrick Furrer manages the store in Davos-Dorf. Together, the stores employ about 20 team members, creating employment opportunities in the local community.
Both EUROSPAR stores operating in Davos opened in 1994 and have been operated by Puracenter AG for the past five years. The company not only runs these two EUROSPAR stores and a further seven SPAR Supermarkets in the region but also processes local milk and traditional cheese in its local specialties. The close-knit cooperation between Puracenter AG, local farmers and food producers, ensures consumers can access the best regional produce and benefits everyone.
SPAR Switzerland identified several stores which could be converted to the new EUROSPAR format when the flagship store in Schänis was launched in 2021, marking the start of a new phase for the SPAR operator.
