For the 10th season, SPAR Slovenia will support local producers and entrepreneurs with its 'Štartaj Slovenija' (Start it up Slovenia) campaign.

The ‘Štartaj Slovenija’ (Start it up Slovenia) initiative provides opportunities for local entrepreneurs who offer innovative Slovenian products. Entering its 10th season, the longevity of the initiative showcases the importance of meeting the needs of and providing opportunities for smaller Slovenian entrepreneurs. Since the initiative’s inception, SPAR Slovenia has supported 83 companies and placed more than 300 products on the shelves as part of ‘Štartaj Slovenija’.

A series of 8 teams with 23 unique products are taking part this year, with the product range placed in INTERSPAR hypermarkets nationwide. All products were first premiered in the INTERSPAR hypermarket in ALEJA shopping centre, allowing for the entrepreneurs to showcase and present their products directly to customers. The overall product range as part of the ‘Štartaj Slovenija’ includes lactose-free dairy products, vegan spreads, organic tea blends, and gourmet pork pâté, as well as non-alcoholic cocktails and local ketchup which is free from preservatives and additives. Additionally, quick-to-prepare freeze-dried soups and natural oil for scalp and beard care round out the products on-show.

“This year, we received many good applications, so it was difficult to select the eight entrepreneurial teams that we invited to participate in the 10th season. As always, the main factors in the selection were the connection to the countryside, the story, local ingredients, and, of course, sustainability, which is particularly important to our company,” said Uroš Lozej, Commercial Director at SPAR Slovenia, about this year’s selection.

The hit tv series returns every Sunday, with the first episode having taken place on October 5.
