SPAR Slovenia supports customers in making healthier everyday choices

January 28, 2026 IN THE CATEGORY: Health, Responsible retailing

To help customers in making healthier choices, SPAR Slovenia has introduced the “Experts Recommend” label. Developed together with the expert council of the “The More I Know, The Better I Eat” programme, the retailer has selected 150 verified food products that carry the label. These products make it easier for customers to choose options that contribute to a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

The expert council provides reliable and science‑based nutrition information. It includes leading Slovenian nutrition professionals such as Lana Trampuš, Dr Teja Klančič, Luka Roter, Mojca Čepuš and Ema Cindro Kostelec, MD.

With so many trends and opinions about healthy eating, customers can easily feel confused. Experts from the council help by dispelling myths and offering clear guidance. They reviewed a wide range of SPAR branded products and selected more than 150 food products that meet European nutritional criteria. These products contain appropriate levels of vitamins, minerals and macronutrients and are minimally processed or unprocessed. All products with the “Experts Recommend” label are chosen based on quality and expert evaluation.

“I recommend fermented products such as pickled turnips, sauerkraut and natural kefir. Fermented foods are a real little laboratory of life, full of probiotics and postbiotics that work together as a team to restore intestinal balance. This natural package of biotics boosts gut health and gives your digestive system more stability and resilience,” said expert council member Dr Teja Klančič.

All products with the “Experts Recommend” label are available in SPAR and INTERSPAR stores nationwide, and the full product list is also available online.
