“The ‘Start it Up, Slovenia’ products have proven to be an excellent response to the growing demand for authentic, minimally processed products, highlighting growers personal stories. At the same time, the project supports young farm entrepreneurs looking to add value to their products and reach customers. Through SPAR stores, which attract hundreds of thousands of customers, the producers are stepping onto a larger stage. I wish all the participants a successful season, more inspiring stories, and, of course, the best possible sales”, said SPAR Slovenia CEO, David Kovačič.
This year’s selection features a diverse range of innovative products from the Slovenian countryside, including goat’s milk ice cream, organic bread, fruit strips, a fizzy drink with grape juice, and organic fermented minced garlic. There are also beauty products such as natural makeup and lavender creams for sensitive skin.
‘Start it Up, Slovenia!’ returned to national TV, competing with major global formats like MasterChef and Slovenia’s Got Talent. Over the past eight seasons, more than 1.5 million Slovenians have tuned in to at least part of one show.
Since the launch of ‘Start it Up, Slovenia!’ in 2016, 75 teams of entrepreneurs and producers developed more than 300 innovative products. The 2024 winning product will be announced at the end of this year’s ‘Start it Up’ season.
