Thanks to the donation, the 16 schools will be able to fill their shelves with a new selection of books, offering children easy access to good quality reading material.
The libraries were selected by SPAR Slovenia with the help of the Ministry of Education, Science & Sport, and the Centre for the Advancement of Libraries, NUK. SPAR Slovenia ensured that support was given to schools that are often forgotten because of their small size and rural location.
“A culture of reading needs encouragement,” said Janja Štular, Marketing Manager at SPAR Slovenia. “In addition to words, we also need action. Therefore, at the conclusion of our well-received campaign, we decided to donate to Slovenian school libraries that operate in remote parts of the country.”
