Colin McLean, CEO at CJ Lang & Son Ltd, said: “During the pandemic, we have been in a fortunate position to be able to continue supplying our independent SPAR retailers with what they needed to provide communities with essential items on a daily basis.”
“Our distribution team has been doing a phenomenal job and provided a number of retail businesses outside of the SPAR network with product over the past 12 weeks. As a result we felt we could expand on this service and provide not only our existing independent SPAR retailers with a click and collect service but also allow other retail trade customers the opportunity to order and collect from our depot in Dundee”, Colin McLean added.
“We are doing all we can to support independent retailing in Scotland and as we work with a growing number of Scottish, UK and international suppliers, we have the ability to offer retail businesses an extensive product range.”
The click-and-collect service has been in operation since 10 June and SPAR Scotland is looking to add more products over the next few weeks.

About SPAR UK
The UK became a member of SPAR in 1956 when a group of independent wholesalers was granted the SPAR licence by SPAR International. There are five regional partners in the UK with strategically placed Distribution Centres in each region. A central office, located in London, provides national marketing and buying services for the group and supports the development of the brand.
SPAR has led the convenience market in the UK for many years but has faced increasing competition. Always innovative, the five regional partners have continued to grow the brand. Throughout the UK, a combination of independently-owned licensed retailers and company-owned stores can be found, spanning forecourts, airports, train stations, city centres, and local neighbourhoods.
