Digital City is Saudi Arabia’s first mixed-use development with commercial, residential, and retail offerings. It is home to different governmental buildings, as well as multinational companies.
The SPAR Express store stocks a variety of products covering the daily needs of its young customer base, consisting mainly of career-oriented professionals. It is equipped with self-checkouts granting a convenient shopping experience.
CENSA: A customer favourite
With its high-quality coffee prepared by skilled baristas and fragrant bakery offering, the CENSA Coffee counter is appealing to customers at any time of the day.
Abdullah Fahad AlSadhan, Marketing Manager at SPAR Saudi Arabia, said: “SPAR Saudi celebrated the launch of the first CENSA Coffee Café concept in the newly opened SPAR Express at Riyadh’s upmarket Digital City area.”
“This innovation from SPAR International offers a comprehensive range of hot and cold drinks. It is situated directly adjacent to the new SPAR Bakery concept, which offers served and self-service fresh pastries, croissants, made-to-order pizza, and other oven-baked goodies. These products have rapidly become a customer favourite for breakfast, brunch, and lunch”, he added.
“The CENSA Café and Bakery offerings contribute around 50% of the store sales and serve more than 800 customers daily. The CENSA concept will be incorporated into all upcoming developments. All existing stores will have their café offerings rebranded to CENSA during 2021”, Abdullah Fahad AlSadhan said.
SPAR Saudi Arabia initially launched large SPAR Supermarkets. Having achieved a strong brand exposure at its SPAR campus stores before the pandemic, SPAR Saudi has expanded its development to smaller neighbourhood supermarkets and convenience outlets. With the opening of SPAR Express at Digital City, the retailer now operates 11 SPAR stores in total.
The SPAR Own Brand is performing well in all SPAR stores in the country. There are plans in place to further enhance the own brand offering to provide customers with even more choice.
