By extending the contract and expanding the current cooperation with the Swiss Handball Association, SPAR will also have the presentation rights for the junior national women teams at the women’s Swiss Cup final. In future, all clubs will benefit from the cash-back campaign as part of the ‘Handball Bonus Card’.
In addition to this commitment to women’s sport, SPAR is also consciously focusing on young talent. “Through the Handball Bonus Card, we have invested significantly in young players in the past. By expanding the campaign, over 200 clubs can use the Handball Bonus Card and collect valuable bonus points for the support of their own young players when shopping at SPAR,” says Karin Locher, Marketing Manager of SPAR Switzerland.
Sabrina Marty, President of the SPAR Premium League, is delighted about the extension of the SPAR sponsorship: “I am thrilled that we will continue the good cooperation which both organisations have developed. The SPAR Premium League has become well-established and we see real benefits in being able to work together with SPAR on continuity in the sport. Furthermore, it is wonderful that SPAR’s sponsorship goes beyond the League. This is a great achievement for women’s handball.”
The Handball Bonus Card enables customers to raise money for young handball players when shopping in SPAR stores as a percentage of the sales goes into a sponsorship fund. At the end of the season, each club receives a 2.5% reimbursement of the total turnover which the club’s supporters spent in SPAR. In recognition of the increasing use of digital solutions, a mobile version of the card will be launched soon.
