SPAR Poland expands its retail network with three new stores

July 6, 2022 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

In line with SPAR Poland’s objective to expand its presence throughout the market, three new stores opened in May this year. These stores are all run by independent entrepreneurs, licensed to operate under the SPAR banner. Supporting local retailers to grow their business, by increasing profitability and productivity, is inherent to the SPAR way of doing business.

Following the investment in the expansion of the logistics capacity, SPAR Poland can provide retailers with timely deliveries frequently. This investment in facilities, infrastructure and the supply system has strengthened SPAR Poland’s offer to Polish entrepreneurs keen to develop their business. The most recent retailers to join the organisation reflect the appeal for entrepreneurs to remain independent whilst benefitting from the expertise available and access to best practices which SPAR Poland can offer.

The increase in the product ranges available through SPAR Poland, particularly of SPAR Own Brand including value, eco, organic and luxury products, supports a complete offer for customers. The retailer’s focus on fresh foods and convenience solutions such as the Bean Tree Café which offers fresh coffee, paninis, sandwiches, and delicatessen choices complements the overall offer.

As reported in the SPAR International 2021 annual review, year-on-year retail turnover grew by 20% using average annual exchange rates to €385.3 million.

Community spirit

A ‘family run with SPAR’ day was well received with families joining in the fun and over 250 runners competing in the 5km race. Children were encouraged to participate, with distances starting at 600m opening the event to children aged six and above. Held on June 4, residents embraced the opportunity to come together and celebrate the start of summer. This was just one event that SPAR Poland hosted on the day, highlighting the brand’s recognition of the importance of family. A ‘family SPAR picnic’ attracted many people keen to enjoy the full programme of activities planned throughout the afternoon.
