August 13, 2020 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR Oman has recently celebrated two store openings in the capital city of Muscat. Both stores are located in a residential area and focus on meeting local customer needs. Store highlights include the extensive fresh food departments and strong value aisles.

SPAR CBD
SPAR CBD reopened on 15 July in Ruwi, a residential area and the main business district of Muscat. The store attracts a range of customer groups, including local single households, tourists, and business people.

The renovation resulted in the extension of the retail sales area to 400m2. The destination departments include the fresh food department and meat service counter, which both offer an extensive choice of premium and locally sourced products.

The SPAR Supermarket features a modern signage system which divides the store into different areas, including Fruit & Veg, Farm Fresh, Mother & Baby, Frozen Delights, Veggie Delights, Spices, Rice & Flour, etc. Another highlight is the prominently signed value aisle, with special offers in different product categories.

The lengthy opening hours, Monday to Sunday from 7 am to 11 pm, generate 530 transactions a day on average. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SPAR Oman could not organise a store opening ceremony. However, customers have already responded very positively to the renewed store, welcoming its enlarged sales area and wide assortment.

SPAR Rex Road
The newly opened SPAR Rex Road, also in Ruwi, has a retail sales area of 600m2, adapted to the needs of local single households and families.

The supermarket features an extensive fresh and vegetable department, a premium butchery, and a strong value offer.

The customer reaction to the opening of the new SPAR store in Muscat has been very positive. Customers have responded enthusiastically to having a shopping destination within close proximity. On average, 500 transactions are made a day, with shoppers benefiting from the extended opening hours of 7 am to 11 pm.
