SPAR Norway building ultra-fast grocery delivery

SPAR Norway launched its new SPAR QuickCommerce solution to meet current customer requirements for speed and convenience. Through this new quick-commerce solution, customers can receive their groceries in as little as 20-45 minutes, without adding complexity or cost for local SPAR Norway retailers.

Powered by strong collaboration

This SPAR QuickCommerce solution was developed and rolled out in collaboration with different parts of the business, including IT and Procurement, and with Foodora. Through the development of this solution, the retail organisation saw QuickCommerce as a growth opportunity, utilising SPAR Norway’s digital capabilities to connect retailers to new platforms.

The platform includes robust API integration that automates data flow between stores and delivery platforms. Combining the expertise across SPAR Norway and Foodora, the result is a scalable, integrated, and future-ready solution that is simple and viable for retailers. Instore, employees interact with the Foodora terminal to pick orders and process them with the courier, who then delivers the order directly to the customer’s door.

Customer value without compromise

The SPAR QuickCommerce solution was launched in Norway in September 2025 through 16 SPAR branded stores, with the number of participating stores having grown to 60+ in Q1 2026. Using this solution, customers can shop from home and receive their orders quickly and reliably at instore prices.

Since the launch of this platform, orders through SPAR QuickCommerce have had a larger basket spend than store transactions, with the average order value of NOK 460 and average order size of 12.5 items. For independent retailers, this model requires no investment, enabling the solution to grow across SPAR Norway’s store portfolio.

Future innovation

For SPAR Norway, the SPAR QuickCommerce programme provides potential across NorgesGruppen and its store portfolio, including the implementation of the Trumf loyalty programme, campaign interfaces, real-time inventory visibility in delivery apps, and advanced reporting.

The solution strengthens SPAR Norway’s position by meeting growing customer expectations for rapid delivery and supports the retail organisation’s broader strategy of putting the customer first through innovation, digitalisation, and profitable omnichannel growth.
