SPAR Nigeria introduce easy online ordering with home delivery

April 4, 2020 IN THE CATEGORY: COVID-19

SPAR Nigeria operates 14 hypermarkets in several major cities around the country. A government lock down from 3rd April in response to the corona virus COVID-19 outbreak, led to them changing their store opening hours and introduce online ordering for home delivery.

Having seen that shoppers were purchasing larger volumes than normal of many products, SPAR Nigeria put together a series of essential kit products for easy ordering, making the online ordering process quick and simple. Customers can also create their own grocery lists from a wide variety of food and drink items on the site.

The minimum order value is ₦2000 and there is a fixed delivery fee payable with customers able to select the day and timeslot that works for them. With a continuous focus on both colleague and customer health and safety, orders are delivered without contact to the entrance of the home. Deliveries are being offered to specified communities in the cities of Ikeja, Ilupeju, Victoria Island and Lekki Phase One.

Diverse payment methods are possible, based on local needs and taking into account the experience SPAR Nigeria has through its credit card, loyalty card and from its non-food trade in the hypermarkets.

Communicating with customers

The opening hours are published through their social media channels, assuring customers continued quality service in all stores. Within the supermarkets, colleagues are fully aware of all protective measures required to maintain health and safety with customers asked to reduce over burdening the supply chain through panic purchases.

SPAR Nigeria’s strong focus on locally sourced fresh products is now more than ever welcomed by shoppers, and their instore bakeries are very popular. The brand is well known in the market, with SPAR Nigeria winning three important national retail awards last year.
