SPAR Netherlands launches new private label brand ‘Bakkershart’

April 14, 2025 IN THE CATEGORY: Own Brand and Suppliers

SPAR Netherlands has introduced a new private label brand, Bakkershart, comprising high-quality bread and pastry products at competitive prices.

Sustainability and Innovation

As part of SPAR Netherlands’ commitment to sustainability, Bakkershart products are designed to help customers make more conscious choices. All products carry a Nutri-Score icon, feature recycling details, and the ‘Look, Smell, and Taste’ logo which encourages mindful consumption. Packaging improvements are also underway, such as replacing the duo-material baguette bag with a more recyclable plastic version and reducing packaging materials, wherever possible. With these changes, Bakkershart is not only a delicious choice but also an environmentally responsible one.

Collaboration with local bakers

SPAR Netherlands remains dedicated to supporting local artisan bakers in its community-minded stores. This collaboration allows customers to enjoy the best of both worlds: the trusted quality and affordability of Bakkershart alongside the authentic, traditional offerings from local bakers. This strengthens SPAR Netherland’s bread department and enhances its position as the go-to convenience store in the Netherlands.

Phased introduction

Bakkershart’s full product range will be rolled out gradually over the coming months. By the conclusion of summer, customers will be able to enjoy an extensive selection of premium bread and pastry products.
