SPAR Netherlands and EG Group (Euro Garages) in the Netherlands extend and expand their collaboration, which began in 2017 with the conversion and cooperation of stores. Since the start of the collaboration, 190 stores have been converted and turnover growth has been achieved year-on-year in the SPAR Express stores.

Partnership extension

The multi-year extension of the partnership marks a new phase in which both organisations reconnect to further expand their partnership. John van der Ent, CEO of SPAR Netherlands, says: “We are pleased to have extended and agreed to expand our partnership. Together, we continue to strive to offer our customers the best shopping experience. This partnership will strengthen our position as king of convenience in this market.”

Zuber Issa, co-CEO EG Group, said: “This extension of our partnership is an important step in our strategic growth. We look forward to joining forces and serving our customers even better.”

In addition, the partnership will be expanded with various initiatives. For example, part of The Tosti Club range will be available at all EG Group Go Fresh Bakery locations in the Netherlands. This will bring the total number of sales outlets for this range to over 150. The implementation of SPAR Media digital screens will improve  customer experience through customer-oriented content on the screens in the shop.

By leveraging each other’s strengths and expertise, the partners strive to develop a future-proof proposition that adds value for customers.
