SPAR Jiarong Supermarket Dongtai in China reopens to customers

August 12, 2024 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

In July, SPAR Jiarong Supermarket Dongtai in China reopened following renovation, now having a new look and feel and improved shopping experience for customers.

Enhanced experience instore

The supermarket first opened in 2004, and once again welcomed customers with a new and enhanced instore layout. With a sales area of over 6,000m2, the SPAR Supermarket contains wider aisles, linkage between different departments, and zones dedicated to special products.

In addition to the visual changes, the product assortment has also been renewed. High quality products was a staple of the SPAR Jiarong Supermarket Dongtai, and the newly upgraded supermarket now offers a wider range of SPAR Own Brand products, as well as an extensive overall grocery offering of nearly 10,000 products at affordable prices. The supermarket also has ample space for a large selection of fresh produce, a core of SPAR China’s offering.

A new instore dining area was added next to the prepared food counter, where people can enjoy a delicious meal. The services available were revised, adding options such as free ice cubes, food heating, and fresh food cutting, all aimed at providing customers with an even better experience. Overall, the SPAR Jiarong Supermarket Dongtai provides a one-stop-shop for the needs of the local residents.

Celebratory opening

To celebrate the opening, customers could enjoy samples from over 30 stalls. A customer competition was held, whereby customers were entered into a draw to win prizes based on spend.

The privately-owned retail chains licensed to operate SPAR have a cooperative relationship. As a result, this partnership aligns with the original SPAR mission of working together to reduce costs, maximise sales, and increase profits.
