SPAR Hungary invests over €13.5 million in store modernisation

SPAR Hungary has modernised six of its stores through developments totalling over €13.5 million. The upgraded stores now welcome customers to a modern shopping environment, offering an improved customer experience, expanded services, a wider product range, and enhanced energy efficiency.

SPAR Hungary has reopened the 4,000m2 INTERSPAR hypermarket in Veszprém following a €7.26 million investment, renewing the hypermarket’s equipment, layout, façade, and entrance to create a more modern, spacious, and convenient shopping environment. Customers benefit from a fresh market-style layout, digital displays, electronic shelf labels, improved checkout options, and a REpont return machine, with 77 team members ensuring quality service. A new SPAR toGo area, offering fresh sandwiches, pizza and refreshments with charging points and a relaxing terrace, will be available in June for added convenience.

The renovated 820m2 SPAR supermarket in Gyöngyös, supported by a €2.33 million investment, now features a refreshed entrance area, expanded fresh food sections and convenience products, as well as improved payment options with four traditional and six self-service checkouts. Additional upgrades include a renewed building façade, updated car park, and enhanced recycling facilities.

SPAR Hungary completed the modernisation of the 760m2 supermarket in Győr with a €1.71 million investment, presenting a refreshed layout that includes improved service counters, bakery, fresh food sections, convenient checkout options, and an upgraded car park featuring enhanced recycling facilities. The supermarket demonstrates its commitment to sustainability with energy-saving LED lighting and environmentally friendly refrigeration systems.

A SPAR supermarket in Budapest was modernised with a €738,600 investment, featuring a refreshed layout, expanded fresh food department and bakery sections, and enhanced convenience for customers with both express and self-service checkouts. Energy-efficient LED lighting and a modern heat pump system contribute to sustainable operations, while 66 employees ensure a welcoming atmosphere and high-quality service.

The SPAR supermarket in Gárdony has undergone a €785,000 refurbishment, enhancing its 694m2 retail sales area with improved fresh food sections, a self-service hot grill, an expanded bakery, and a modernised promotional area. This supermarket now features modernised building and parking facilities and provides employment for 21 team members.

The SPAR supermarket in Zalaegerszeg underwent a €757,000 refurbishment, redesigning the customer pathway and expanding its fresh food offerings with a self-service hot grill unit. This supermarket now features energy-saving LED lighting, eco-friendly refrigeration, fast checkout options, and improved facilities for packaging collection.
