From 1 January 2017, Gabriella Heiszler will take over from Erwin Schmuck as the Managing Director of SPAR Hungary. Gabriella will be supported in this position by Zsolt Szalay, who has been appointment joint Managing Director, responsible for sales.

Erwin Schmuck will continue to support the team in Hungary in his new role as member of the Supervisory Board of SPAR Hungary. He will assist with the implementation of initiatives started in the past four years, which have seen the company return to a position of stability.

Gabriella was appointed as a joint Managing Director of SPAR Hungary in April 2015, responsible for finance, accounting, legal matters, IT and organisational departments. From 1 January her portfolio will be increased to cover Human Resources, store expansion, logistics, purchasing, marketing, communication, personnel development, internal controlling departments as well as the Regum Meat Processing Plant and Training Centre.

Currently the Head of Sales for INTERSPAR, Zsolt will join the Corporate Management team, taking on responsibility for INTERSPAR Hypermarket sales, SPAR Supermarket sales, Independent Retail turnover and online sales, a new channel currently in development.
