Sanolandia
The Sanolandia project is supported by the Ministry of Education and is aimed at schoolchildren between the ages of three and eight. Performed as a musical act, Sanolandia teaches children about the benefits of healthy food, the importance of exercise, the dangers of too much sun exposure, and the essentials of good hygiene.
The cast includes the FrutiSPAR characters who sing and dance and spread awareness of these important topics in a fun, child-friendly way. During the performances, SPAR Gran Canaria distributes healthy snacks, including fruit and water to the children in the audience.
The project was officially kicked off on 17 October with a special function organised in the theatre of the Mother and Child Hospital in Las Palmas. During the rest of the school year, the show will be held in several other theatres on the island.
Blood donation
In support of the local Hemotherapy Institute, SPAR Gran Canaria has organised a mobile blood donation campaign with blood transfusions taking place at fixed locations across the island, including the SPAR Gran Canaria head office and several SPAR stores.
With this campaign, SPAR Gran Canaria is drawing awareness to the importance of blood donation. As a token of appreciation, all donors receive a small gift.
