The sponsorship renewal was celebrated at Muelle Deportivo de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where key representatives from SPAR Gran Canaria, including the company’s President Ángel Medina and Vice President José López, joined the boat’s team.
During the event, Ángel Medina emphasised SPAR Gran Canaria’s dedication to local sports and its pride in being part of the boat’s history. The SPAR Guerra del Río team expressed their gratitude, highlighting the significance of this support in ensuring the future of Canarian lateen sailing.
The event concluded with the official signing of the sponsorship agreement, reinforcing the commitment between SPAR Gran Canaria and the sailing team as they prepare for the new season. With this continued support, the team looks forward to competing at the highest level while promoting the heritage of Canarian lateen sailing.
SPAR Gran Canaria and El Museo Canario renewed their collaboration for the sixth year to continue the ‘Family Visits’ educational programme in 2025. This free initiative offers families interactive experiences to explore Canarian history and heritage. The programme includes workshops, storytelling, and themed visits, engaging over 250 participants last year. SPAR Gran Canaria reaffirms its commitment to culture through this initiative and other sponsorships, including folkloric group Los Gofiones and the SPAR Guerra del Río lateen sailing boat.

SPAR Spain was founded in 1959 when a group of wholesalers who wished to join an international organisation came together. It provides buying, marketing, communications, and brand support to the 13 regional partners. Together, the SPAR operators actively continue the expansion of the brand across the country.
