The SPAR Gran Canaria Youth Talent Scholarship programme is instrumental in recognising and nurturing young individuals who have demonstrated exceptional talent in various disciplines. The beneficiaries of this programme, aged between 9 and 16, have excelled in artistic, literary, and sports fields, requiring additional financial support to continue their training and participate in national and international competitions.
This event focused on honouring previous scholarship recipients, including Jenny Sanabria, a chess champion; Gabriel Meneses, a violinist; María Juste, an artistic gymnast; Bruno Bárbara, a windsurfing world champion; and Daniela Moreno, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion. These young talents have not only brought pride to the island but have also become role models for their peers.
The meeting featured various activities designed to inspire and develop the participants’ skills. Highlights included a workshop where recipients could address organisational and personal challenges through 3D construction, as well as an equine-assisted leadership development session. Juan Ferrer, an expert in change management and collective leadership, guided the young talents through exercises designed to enhance their confidence and adaptability.
Yubi Cisneros, director of corporate social responsibility and communication in SPAR Gran Canaria, said, “With the Youth Talent Scholarship, we aim to support our young people not only in their professional careers but also in their personal development. This meeting is a testament to our commitment to future generations, offering them tools and experiences that help them grow and face future decisions with confidence.”
SPAR Gran Canaria remains dedicated to creating opportunities for the island’s youth, ensuring that their talents are nurtured and celebrated. This initiative is a shining example of how corporate responsibility can have a positive impact on the community and inspire future generations.

SPAR Spain was founded in 1959 when a group of wholesalers who wished to join an international organisation came together. As a result, the brand became the first voluntary trading chain to be established in Spain, having been granted a license by SPAR International. Together, regional SPAR wholesalers continue to actively expand the brand across the country.
