SPAR France launches new growth strategy with the opening of a new store

Casino Group, the SPAR licensed organisation in France, celebrates the opening of a new supermarket in Luynes revealing a new store concept which signifying a focus on growing the SPAR brand presence nationwide.

New generation store concept

The SPAR Supermarket in Luynes, a rapidly developing district in Aix-en-Provence, is the first of a new generation of store concept launched by Casino Group. This new supermarket signifies a new strategy for the SPAR brand in France, focusing on a renewed vision of local commerce, with the aim of providing authentic, local, and flexible shopping experiences for customers.

The new generation SPAR store concept was developed in collaboration with Casino Group and SPAR France’s independent retailers, which make up nearly 95% of SPAR stores operating nationwide. This concept can be adapted to different localities, including rural, urban, tourist, and coastal demographics. Instore, the assortment is suited to meet the ever-changing needs of customers, with a focus on food-to-go, local produce, and convenience. Overall, the new generation SPAR store concept will allow retailers to adapt their stores effectively to meet the needs of their customers.

New SPAR Supermarket in Luynes

The SPAR Supermarket in Luynes features a modern and bright façade, alongside a modernised design with clear signage, digital screens, and merchandising. The instore offer has been improved with the addition of 2,300 products, particularly across local, organic, international, non-food and snacking product ranges. Local is at the heart of the SPAR Supermarket in Luynes. Over 400 products are sourced locally, and the addition of a weekly fish market held at the store each weekend brings more fresh local produce to customers.

Food-to-go and convenience are at the core of the new generation SPAR store concept, with a redesigned food-to-go department adapted to meet the needs of customers coming into the SPAR Supermarket in Luynes. Other departments instore include a wine cellar, and with services such as home delivery available, this SPAR Supermarket provides a refined customer experience instore.
