On 2 May, SPAR Denmark opened its second store in the Risskov area on Kamma Klitgårds Gade. Peter Stausholm owns SPAR Supermarket Risskov, which he took over in the summer of 2022, with David Jørgensen as co-owner.
“We at SPAR are very pleased that Peter Stausholm and David Jørgensen have taken on the challenge of running another SPAR store. I have no doubt that they are the right people for the job,” said Esben Keller, Dagrofa’s Director of the chains SPAR, MENY, Min Købmand and Let-Køb.
On 30 May, a new SPAR Supermarket opened in Søllerød, housed in a historic building in Søllerød Park. After extensive interior renovations, the store is ready to offer residents a new supermarket experience, focusing on quality and community.
The new store is operated by 31-year-old Ali Feili, an experienced retailer with experience within SPAR Denmark’s parent company Dagrofa. Most recently, he managed the SPAR store in Rørvig.
“I am very much looking forward to opening a SPAR Supermarket in Søllerød. I believe the community has been eagerly awaiting this store. As we worked on the planning and interior design, I had the opportunity to watch the craftsmen at work. I am confident we have created a beautiful store that will be a pleasure to visit,” said Ali Feili, who began his retail career in Dagrofa stores as a teenager.
Ali Feili is particularly excited about several features of the new store. “We will have a high-quality fresh vegetable section, a delicatessen department, a large wine department and we have agreements with various external suppliers who deliver exclusive groceries,” he said.
Sales Manager at SPAR Denmark, Jens Bredvig Larsen, supported Ali Feili in setting up the new store in Søllerød. “With this SPAR Supermarket, Søllerød gets a store focusing on local connections and high-quality fresh products. We offer a price match on 400 items, ensuring customers can purchase frequently bought items at the same price as in discount stores. We call our price match ‘Yellow Price,’” said Jens Bredvig Larsen.
In 2024, SPAR Denmark celebrates its 70th anniversary. SPAR was launched in Denmark in 1954 with a small 16m² store in Hjerting. The anniversary will be marked in SPAR stores nationwide with special offers and local events throughout the year.
After a retail chain withdrew from Denmark, Dagrofa acquired eight stores, seven of which will be converted to the SPAR brand. Earlier this year, new SPAR stores opened in Blistrup in North Zealand and Svenstrup near Korsør.
