SPAR Denmark delivers groceries to shoppers’ doorsteps

April 15, 2020 IN THE CATEGORY: COVID-19, Supply Chain

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, grocery shopping has become more difficult for many people, especially those in high-risk groups. For customers who are unable or unwilling to leave the house, or possibly need to do grocery shopping for others, SPAR Denmark has introduced a home delivery service called ‘We shop for you’.

This new home delivery service was quickly developed by SPAR Denmark to meet the growing demand for online shopping and home delivery options in these challenging times. The service is available throughout Zealand, Funen, Jutland, Bornholm, and the islands connected to the mainland by bridge.

Ordering groceries at SPAR is simple: customers can place their orders over the phone (+45 7070 2035) or through the corporate website. SPAR team members then collect the products and deliver them to the doorstep within 48 hours, making sure that all safety measures are adhered to.

Groceries will be delivered seven days a week from 10 AM to 6 PM. Customers will receive a payment request on their mobile phones through MobilePay, a money transfer app launched by Danske Bank, making sure that payment is made safely and according to government regulations. The price for the home delivery service is DKK49 (€6.50).

About SPAR Denmark

SPAR Denmark was founded in 1954 when Danish retail company, Dagrofa, was granted a licence to operate the brand in the market. In 2013, the NorgesGruppen purchase of 49% of the Dagrofa Group was approved. This led to a major restructuring of the retail business, with a focus placed on strengthening the SPAR Brand in Denmark.

SPAR Denmark has more than 130 supermarkets spread across the country, positioning itself as the largest independent retail chain in the market. Its headquarters are located in Ringsted.
