The new logistics centre covering 75,000m2 will be built on an area of 410,000m2, in a location well connected by roads and close to public city transport and the railway. The total storage capacity of the new DC will be over 100,000 pallets. Danijelo Vidiš, SPAR Croatia Board member, Miljenko Vučković, mayor of the municipality of Klinča Sela and Stjepan Kožić, prefect of Zagreb County, attended the marking of the start of the construction.
“The construction of the SPAR Logistics Centre represents the most strategically important project for us at SPAR Croatia. Given the amount of investment and the number of employees, I believe that it is currently the largest project in Zagreb County and the municipality of Klinča Sela”, said Danijel Vidiš.
“Thanks to the efficient cooperation with the local self-government led by Mayor Miljenko Vučković, we were able to speed up the start of this high-value project”, added Danijel Vidiš.
The investment in the new Distribution Centre is vital to maintain retail growth which has seen considerable investment in hypermarkets and supermarkets in recent years. SPAR Croatia grew retail sales in 2021 by 8.1%, ending with €792.6 million, ranking third in the Croatian market in terms of turnover.
