The store offers a wide range of food and non-food products. The focus is on locally sourced products. Furthermore, the store highlights ranges for customers with special dietary requirements, like SPAR Veggie and SPAR Free From.
A distinctive feature of this SPAR Supermarket is the large and always fresh offer at the fish department, where a large selection of freshwater fish is available, in addition to sea fish. Another highlight of this store is its butchery with an extensive choice of fresh meat.
The opening ceremony was attended by local government officials along with the CEO of SPAR Croatia, Helmut Fenzl.
On the opening day, SPAR Croatia donated €2,650 to the voluntary fire brigade in Pregrada, showing SPAR’s strong community support.

The first SPAR store opened in Croatia in 2005, following the licence agreement between ASPIAG (Austrian SPAR International AG) and SPAR International in 2004. As a member of the ASPIAG group, SPAR Croatia can access a wide range of own brand products. Brand development has primarily taken place through SPAR Supermarkets and INTERSPAR Hypermarkets, both through the take-over of existing chains and the opening of new stores.
SPAR Croatia is a strong supporter of locally sourced products and cooperates with over 40 small-scale agricultural producers, selling products under ‘The Garden of Croatia’ brand. SPAR also runs a ‘Yes, It’s Local’ campaign to promote local goods.
