In early October, SPAR Croatia launched its first SPAR City store, located in the heart of the capital city of Zagreb. This urban store format is designed to meet the growing demand for fast, convenient, and high-quality food shopping in city centres.

The new SPAR City concept addresses the daily needs of urban customers with a focus on fresh, ready-to-eat meal solutions. The emphasis is on offering fresh meals prepared for customers every day. Customers can choose from fresh salads, chia bowls, skyr yoghurts, and a variety of SPAR To Go items like focaccias, mini pizzas, croissants, prepared dishes, and desserts. The new SPAR City store also provides a wide selection of freshly prepared ready meals. These include side dishes, stews, grilled and boiled vegetables, and meat dishes that require reheating.

The store has a retail sales area of nearly 200m² and is located in a historic 19th-century building. SPAR Croatia renovated the building in just five months, working closely with Croatia’s heritage protection office. The company invested over €1 million in the project.

Eight team members ensure smooth operations and a pleasant shopping atmosphere. For an even faster and easier shopping experience, customers can use self-service checkouts. The store features a modern CO₂ cooling system and energy-efficient LED lighting.
