SPAR Contact International issue 3 is out now

The third issue of the SPAR Contact International magazine for this year is now available, highlighting the success and adaptability of SPAR country organisations and SPAR retailers to continue to foster growth.

In our new issue of Contact International, we celebrate DESPAR Italia’s magnificent 65 years in operation this year, and profile the brand’s success and development across the country. SPAR Netherlands has adapted its retail strategy in the face of an evolving Dutch retail market, focusing more on younger generations while remaining a fabric of local communities. Further expansion of the SPAR Brand has seen the launch of the brand in Finland, as well as new store formats opening in France and Saudi Arabia.

People and independent retailers are at the heart of the SPAR Brand. We are honoured to showcase South African retailer Dean Jankielsohn, who has grown a successful business, together with his wife, Tanya and family.

SPAR international’s successful partnership with Heineken around the UEFA Champions League saw seven SPAR markets bring an exciting consumer competition to stores. Additionally, through partnerships with Preferred Suppliers, SPAR country organisations continue to leverage the international scale of the SPAR Brand to develop business operations further.

The 68th International SPAR Congress took place in Croatia for the first time. In the summer, the SPAR Future Leaders Programme brought delegates from across the SPAR retail network to develop their retail and leadership knowledge. In the world of sport, the European Athletics Teams and U23 Championships reinforced the SPAR brand’s standing as a long-term sponsor of European Athletics.
