At the end of 2024, the SPAR Supermarket Qingdao Leke City officially opened its doors after significant renovations. The supermarket design has been optimised to improve the customer shopping experience and enhance the product assortment. The layout includes new lighting, as well as increased shelf and floor space, enabling customers to easily move throughout the supermarket.
In terms of assortment, the focus on fresh produce brings in a large selection of local and international fruit and vegetables. The fish counter provides fresh fish, and the butchery offers high-quality meat cuts. In the food-to-go department, the SPAR Supermarket Qingdao Leke City includes a pasta kitchen and delicatessen. A specific dining area is also located in the supermarket for customers to enjoy freshly prepared hot and cold meals on the spot.
Technological innovations such as smart shopping carts allows for quick scanning and payment, shortening checkout times.
At the start of 2025, SPAR Guangdong reopened two supermarkets, SPAR Supermarket Dongguan Shijie Hexin and SPAR Supermarket Zhanjiang World Trade. Both supermarkets have been refreshed to include the new design style of SPAR Supermarkets in the region. Instore, the bakery department in the two supermarkets has been expanded, as well as providing an enhanced food-to-go offering to customers.
The focus on fresh throughout its store network for SPAR Guangdong is reflected in the wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables and fish products available in both supermarkets. Products from around the world can also be purchased from both supermarkets. The SPAR Supermarket Zhanjiang added more than 1,500 SKUs to the revamped product assortment.
