SPAR Austria offers 900 trainees career opportunities!

SPAR Austria is the largest private training organisation in the country with 2,700 trainees. Jobs in retailing are secure with the ongoing growth of SPAR Austria which is a top employer in the market. Trainees are offered a variety of extras including free driving lessons to reward excellent performance, possibility to earn bonuses, paid accommodation and most importantly receive additional training opportunities.

With the varied operations of SPAR Supermarkets, INTERSPAR Hypermarkets and sports retailer Hervis, there are many secure job possibilities for talented young people. With 17 different teaching courses around retail including food, delicatessen, catering or office administration, there are jobs to find either at store level, regional offices or the central office. Trainees not only gain excellent instore experience, but they also attend seminars and classes managed through the SPAR Academy in Vienna.

More than €4.500 extra
SPAR offers trainees a bit more than other training organisations in the country: variety, challenge, self-responsibility and rewards for good performances. In addition to training allowances, SPAR pays up to €140 per month extra depending on performances. For good grades at the vocational school, trainees can receive bonuses of up to €218. In this way trainees can earn more than €4,500 during a three-year training period. Trainees with excellent assessments and good grades receive free driving lessons which in 2016 were award to about 70 trainees.

Innovative recruiting tool
In 2016 SPAR Austria introduced WhatsApp as an individual recruiting tool, which is unique in Austria. Young people can pose their questions about specific training at SPAR via the WhatsApp channel directly to the responsible trainee supervisor in their region and receive feedback within 24 hours.
