SPAR Austria, in partnership with petrol station operator SOCAR, is expanding its network of SPAR Express forecourt stores. Two new stores opened in Schwechat (Lower Austria) and Knittelfeld (Styria) just before Christmas 2024, and 14 additional locations are planned for 2025. This growth will focus on Styria and Vienna, with new stores also being opened in Carinthia, Tyrol, and Upper Austria.

Modern convenience shopping

These forecourt stores will offer customers a modern shopping experience with a wide range of products available at supermarket prices. Designed with a fresh layout concept, the stores feature modern materials, vibrant colours, and an open design that provides a clear overview of the product range. Shoppers can find SPAR Own Brand items, freshly baked organic pastries, premium fruits and vegetables, and essential everyday products. The stores also highlight fresh snacks and high-quality coffee. SPAR Austria’s supermarket price guarantee applies to all SPAR Own Brand products at these locations.

Extended opening hours

All 90 SPAR Express stores in Austria operate 365 days a year, including public holidays, ensuring customers have access to supermarket-priced products even outside regular grocery store hours. Many of these stores are open 24/7. Located at petrol stations, SPAR Express stores offer a wide range of groceries, including fresh fruits and vegetables, bread and pastries, SPAR Own Brand and exclusive products, and an array of food service options.
