As part of the 2023 conference of independent SPAR retailers, the best Independent SPAR retailers in each region were presented with the “SPAR Golden Fir” award.

Approximately half of the 1,428 SPAR and EUROSPAR stores in Austria are successfully run by independent retailers. Each year, SPAR Austria presents the “Golden Fir” award to the top independent retailer in each of its six regions.

Carinthia

Sabrina Bernhart, manager of the SPAR Supermarket in in Irschen, took home the “Golden Fir” for Carinthia. With 600m² of retail space, this store has been recognised as a top-tier local retailer in the region.

Lower Austria

Michaela and Ewald Fiby won the “Golden Fir” award for the Lower Austria region. Their exceptional 650m² SPAR store in Enzersdorf near Staatz, which launched in December 2021, is the second store managed by the couple. The store quickly established itself as a top-notch local retailer in the region.

Salzburg

Henrik Schrümpf, owner of the SPAR Supermarket in Hinterglemm for over 20 years, received the “Golden Fir” award for Salzburg. The 600m² store offers a diverse product offering, including fresh items and a wide selection of regional products.

Styria

Store manager Kornelia Stockreiter collected the “Golden Fir” award in Styria for the SPAR Landmarkt supermarket in Admont. Alongside a large selection of regional products, the store boasts expertise in the fresh food sector as well.

Upper Austria

Alfred Spieler, owner of the SPAR Supermarket in St. Marienkirchen near Schärding, recieved the “Golden Fir” award for the Upper Austria region for the second time. Alfred, supported by a 23-member team, emphasises the importance of regional and homemade products. The store offers a wide variety of homemade items in the delicatessen section and the bistro at the store.

Vorarlberg

Khrueawan and Daniel Schöpfer, owners of the SPAR Mäder supermarket, took home the “Golden Fir” award for the Vorarlberg region. Their renovated store offers a wide selection of local and regional products, serving as a top-tier local retailer.
