SPAR Australia has announced the addition of a brand new store to its growing group, with the opening of SPAR Jandowae in southern Queensland.

The purpose built store opened with a bang on Saturday 5 December with plenty of fun in the Australian sun. Customers were invited to view the new store and join the SPAR Jandowae team for a Lions Club sausage sizzle, face painting, and the official ribbon cutting ceremony, complete with cake.

The new store offers fresh produce straight from local farmers and markets. It has a strong deli offering with good prices across all of its fresh departments. Furthermore, the store meets all grocery, dairy, frozen and general supermarket needs.

Store Owner, Nick Holman, along with his wife and two children, plan to bring their passion for retail to the local Jandowae community. Teaming up with SPAR Australia and bringing this renowned international brand to Jandowae will see a fantastic new offer available in the region.

“I have a 28-year history in retail, working for multi-national companies and independent retailers. I worked my way up from pushing trolleys,” said Nick. “I have a passion for people and am determined to give my customers a great shopping experience.”

Nick and his family are also passionate about the local Jandowae community. “Our personal plans are to listen to what the community wants and evolve with them. The local community did not have a strong fresh offering so we have focused on produce, using existing fresh offerings in the community.”

The Holman’s hope the local community will support their new business, just as they plan to support the community.

“Local community is very important to us. Once fully established, we would like to support the local horse community and football clubs.”
