Download imageThe Broadmeadow SPAR Supermarket aims to serve the local community while introducing the flavours and beauty trends of Korea. “We wanted to bring something fresh to the Newcastle community while maintaining the convenience and value that the SPAR network is known for,” said store owner Jayden Park during the grand opening.
The supermarket covers a space of 1,000m2 with a full grocery assortment, offering something for everyone. Over 2,000 items are included in SPAR Australia’s payless programme. This initiative provides customers with competitive prices on essentials like fresh produce, pantry staples, and household goods.
The SPAR Supermarket in Broadmeadow provides a unique blend of Korean culture, offering a range of groceries, cosmetics, and freshly prepared Korean food-to-go, which has been well received by customers.

SPAR began trading in Australia in 1994. The current company was formed in 2006. In late 2010, Jardin Investments Pty Ltd, was granted the license. The company licenses and supports independent retailers to develop the brand, with company-owned stores also operating. In addition, it provides a range of services through its Distribution Centre which was modernised in 2022.
