SPAR and EUROSPAR Ireland have officially joined forces with the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland as Official Retail Partners. The new partnership will see SPAR and EUROSPAR Ireland support Team Ireland’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they prepare for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, strengthening their long-standing commitment to both elite and grassroots sport, as well as local communities across Ireland.

SPAR and EUROSPAR official retail partners to Team Ireland

The partnership was officially launched with Olympic and Paralympic athletes including double Olympic Champion rower Fintan McCarthy, two-time Olympic hurdler Sarah Lavin, Olympic boxer Aoife O’Rourke, Paralympic swimming medallist Róisín Ní Riain, Para Rower Katie O’Brien, and Paralympian Colin Judge.

This partnership builds on SPAR and EUROSPAR Ireland’s heritage of supporting local and elite sports, which includes sponsoring the European Athletics Championships since 1996, supporting over 80 competitions and promoting healthy living through sport and a balanced diet. This new collaboration highlights the retail organisations’ commitment to promoting both elite and grassroots sport alongside healthy living and community engagement across Ireland.

Supporting Irish communities and athletes

SPAR and EUROSPAR stores have been proudly serving Irish communities since 1963, investing in local causes, community clubs, and charity programmes. Between now and LA 2028, SPAR and EUROSPAR retailers nationwide will create opportunities for local communities to show their support for Ireland’s athletes, bringing people together in celebration of sport.
