Donate a tree
SPAR Albania joined the Tirana Municipal Initiative, Donate a Tree, on International Forest Day. The SPAR Partner donated 15 trees to the Selvia neighbourhood, which is considered to have the most beautiful trees of the Mediterranean flora, reaching heights of 30-35 m.
Representatives from all departments at SPAR Albania were present at the planting ceremony. The Tirana Mayor thanked SPAR for the donation of the trees and stressed that this is the best way private companies can express their social responsibility to the city, showing that they care for the health of the people of Tirana. The Mayor also emphasised that SPAR significantly contributed to reducing the use of plastic bags in the city saying: “With friends like SPAR, our capital will flourish, for us and for our children.”
Support for children with disabilities
SPAR Albania is a strong supporter of the Hello project, a unique programme that focuses on the integration of children with disabilities. In addition to helping children with healthcare, the programme also offers support to family members and friends who are given advice and are trained individually to assist with the integration process.
In order to raise the funds, SPAR Albania supported the Hello project through donating a certain amount per bottle sold of SPAR mineral water. Additionally, customers could donate through donation boxes in SPAR stores.

About SPAR Albania
The licence for SPAR in Albania was granted in mid-2016 to Almark, a private company owned by the Balfin Group, one of the largest private investment groups in the country. After launching in October 2016, conversions have continued of company-owned stores whilst also sub-licensing independent retailers, expanding the brand’s reach. SPAR Albania operate two formats: INTERSPAR Hypermarkets and SPAR Supermarkets.
