July 2, 2025 IN THE CATEGORY: Feature articles

Our second issue of Contact International for this year is out now, focusing on how the SPAR brand continues to innovate in store offerings worldwide.

The SPAR brand meets the needs of 14.7 million customers per day through continuous store development, as seen by the first SPAR branded store opening in Rwanda. Meanwhile, best-in-class stores across China provide enhanced store designs and product ranges to customers. SPAR UK wholesaler James Hall & Co. Ltd provides exceptional support to local independent retailers across the North of England, facilitating store growth and success.

Retail media continues to be a true innovation instore, and SPAR International is driving the development of retail media for SPAR country organisations to build customer engagement, drive supplier collaboration, and unlock new revenue streams. Additionally, this issue highlights SPAR country organisations who are enhancing their supply chain operations through significant investments.

Also, we look closely at a selection of SPAR South Africa’s impactful Responsible Retailing initiatives, as well as the special recognition received by SPAR Gran Canaria president Angel Medina Padrón.

The European Athletics Indoor Championships took place in Apeldoorn in March, with SPAR country organisations leveraging this long-standing partnership with European Athletics to engage fans and shoppers through exciting consumer activations. The SPAR Human Resources Conference took place in April, with participants across 27 SPAR licensed organisations coming together to share insights in a variety of vital HR topics.
