The new company-owned EUROSPAR Supermarket Doury Road in Ballymena welcomed customers after multi-million pound investment by SPAR licensed organisation for Northern Ireland Henderson Group.

The supermarket was built on the old SPAR store Doury Road site with the project taking 43-weeks to complete. The new supermarket now employs a total of 37, with 21 coming from the previous store, and 16 new jobs coming from the locality.

Outstanding supermarket

Shoppers can find everything they need under one roof. This includes fresh, locally sourced produce, bakery, cheeses and food-t0-go deli. The instore butchery is run locally by Derren Logue and team. Barista Bar to Go machines further enhance the supermarket offer.

Shoppers will also be delighted to see local Ballymena brands instore, including Barr’s Deli and their range of fresh meats, alongside RJ Kerr’s Bakery products, all sourced, prepared and made in the local area.

The supermarket also sees the re-introduction of essential services including the Post Office, as well as the addition of service station facilities such as a six-pump Maxol forecout and a 56-space car park.

Investing in local

With the finalisation of the EUROSPAR Supermarket Doury Road, Henderson Group has invested £30 million into community retailing in the past year.

Mark McCammond, Retail Director at Henderson Group added; “EUROSPAR Supermarket Doury Road is  the perfect example of how our EUROSPAR brand enhances local retailing services and facilities for those within the community, providing everything they need under one roof at value prices.

EUROSPAR Supermarket Doury Road will also continue its valuable community engagement, providing support and sponsorship to various local organisation. This includes local schools, charities, community groups and organisations such as Ballymena Primary School, Dunclug Nursery, Doury Road Development Group, High Kirk Church and Slemish Nursing Home.
