New edition of Contact International now out

The latest edition of Contact International is now out. In this issue of the magazine, we reflect on the exceptional rate of growth over the last 12 months with the expansion of the brand in key markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. In particular, we provide an insight into the launch of SPAR in Saudi Arabia, the largest retail market in the Middle East, and we announce the brand’s entry into Sri Lanka.

Across our global network, the quality of our SPAR stores is continuously improving and in this edition, we also highlight two Best-in-Class EUROSPAR Supermarkets in Northern Italy and Moscow. These are both world-class stores that act as a benchmark internationally.

Supporting the retail developments of our partners is a key part of our scope of service at SPAR International and over the last year, our teams have worked on over 100 retail development projects with SPAR Partners in 27 countries. A highlight of this issue is our latest initiative to create a new bakery category solution that is now ready for international roll out.

Another new focus for us in growing our scope of service support has been international training and HR solutions. At this year’s International SPAR HR Conference in France, we proudly launched our new SPAR Learning Platform, which we outline in detail here. We also feature interviews with Thuli Tabudi, Group HR Executive for the SPAR Group South Africa, and Bernard Gallego, an independent retailer from France.
