Issue 3 2018 of Contact International is now out. In this edition of the magazine, we report on the outstanding 63rd International SPAR Congress hosted by SPAR India in Bangalore. We share insights into the main themes coming out of the event, reflecting on the extraordinary growth and results of 2017 and the achievements to date this year.

We also celebrate the successful launch of the brand in Malta and Greece in the second quarter of 2018.

A key scope of service at SPAR International is the Retail and Concept Development support we provide to SPAR Partners worldwide. We are proud to highlight the most recent case study of an innovative INTERSPAR flagship store in Italy, and for our regular feature on Best-in-Class SPAR stores around the world, we take a look at two EUROSPAR Supermarkets in Upper Austria.

Focusing on people development, this issue reviews the 2018 HR Conference in Lyon, France. In addition to providing a platform for the exchange of HR tools and strategies, the Conference saw the launch of the SPAR International Learning and Training Academy, which helps SPAR Partners to continuously raise the standards of their services and stores worldwide.

Finally, we look back at SPAR’s sponsorship of the U18 European Athletics Championships in Hungary – an event which kicked off an amazing summer of sport, ahead of the European Athletics Championships in Berlin and the inaugural European Championships in Glasgow.
