DESPAR Italia consortium members Nord Ovest and Centro Sud celebrated the reopening of SPAR Supermarkets and INTERSPAR stores after significant renovations.

DESPAR Nord Ovest

The reopening of the DESPAR Supermarket Piazza De Amicis  in Turin reinforces DESPAR Nord Ovest’s commitment to further improving and expanding the retail network in the territory, and meet the needs of customers locally.

The store has a renewed look and feel, with an improved shopping experience for customers. Instore, customers can make use of an extensive assortment of products and departments. This includes fresh products such as fruit and vegetables, butchery, bakery, and fresh cheese. Additionally, customers can purchase their grocery essentials, including a range of local products and DESPAR Italia’s own brand ranges.

Sustainability lies at the core of the store development. This includes innovative, low-impact solutions such as the latest generation of closed refrigerated counters and energy-saving LED lighting. The store also avails of Too Good To Go, which saves unsold food and combats food waste.

DESPAR Centro Sud

The renovated INTERSPAR Hypermarket in Policoro reopened its doors to the public. Sustainable innovations and a modernised look and feel symbolise the INTERSPAR Hypermarket, including the features of Format 35, a store design concept developed between DESPAR Centro Sud, the University of Parma, and SPAR International.

All of the departments across the hypermarket were modernised, including fresh departments, offering a variety from freshly made meals instore to a bakery, butchery, fishmongers, and fruit and vegetables. The general grocery assortment includes everything a customer needs, providing a one-stop-shop solution.

LED lighting systems and CO2 refrigeration systems that use the latest generation of refrigeration technology allow for energy efficiency, high safety and reliability standards.
