DESPAR Italia opens five new stores in January

DESPAR Italia and the regional companies that are part of the consortium further grew the brand's presence in the first month of 2026, with the opening of five new stores.

Four new DESPAR supermarkets

The DESPAR portfolio welcome four new supermarkets across Italy. A new DESPAR supermarket in Azzano Decimo covers a retail sales area of 399m2 with a modern layout and specialised assortment designed to meet the needs of the local community. In the province of Emilia-Romagna, the new DESPAR supermarket in Varano de’ Melegari provides a more compact shopping experience, with 180m2 of retail sales area, focusing on the grocery essentials as well as DESPAR Own Brand product ranges.

In the South of the country, two more DESPAR supermarkets welcomed customers for the first time. The supermarket in Oria, located in Puglia stands out for its fresh departments, including fruit and vegetables, butchery and delicatessen – and by a competitive DESPAR Own Brand assortment to compliment the grocery range. Meanwhile, in Campo Calabro, the new DESPAR supermarket provides a complete shopping experience for customers to find all of their shopping needs quickly and easily.

New EUROSPAR supermarket in Morlupo

Near the capital city of Rome, a new EUROSPAR supermarket in Morlupo opened its doors to customers for the first time, with a specific focus on fresh food a complete product assortment. The supermarkets larger store format allows for customers to do their weekly shop instore from a carefully development selection of products, including from local suppliers as well as DESPAR Own Brand product ranges. This supermarket aims to support ongoing residential projects in the area.
