JumpStart Challenge: Celebrating a dynamic partnership for South Africa’s youth

SPAR South Africa has celebrated its ten-year partnership with non-profit organisation Mr Price Foundation with this year’s edition of the JumpStart Challenge, raising over €35,760 to combat youth unemployment.

SPAR South Africa and Mr Price Foundation have been working together to break the cycle of poverty and inequality in South Africa through the JumpStart programme over the past seven years. JumpStart teaches matriculants foundational life skills and provides hands-on work experience in the entry-level retail environment. This bridges the gap between school and the world of work and helps participants enter the job market better prepared.

SPAR South Africa sources much talent from the JumpStart pipeline. The company has also partnered with the non-profit organisation on its biggest fundraiser for the year: the JumpStart Challenge.

SPAR International’s Contact International magazine is available in six languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Chinese). The online quarterly publication covers a wide range of retail industry subjects, reflecting our diverse and global business.
