The new location is the first smaller-format SPAR store in Kosovo and the first SPAR store outside the capital city, Pristina. The 200m² store is a compact convenience store, serving the nearby neighbourhood in the heart of the city. Located in a pedestrian zone, the store’s SPAR Express counter attracts many shoppers on the move.
The product mix is tailored to suit local shopper needs, creating additional opportunities for local suppliers to expand their market share. The local retail market benefits from employment opportunities and global best practice in training and development, bringing the brand to an increasing number of customers.
The FMCG retail market has been one of the fastest growing sectors in Kosovo. Three SPAR Supermarkets are already open in Pristina; one on Taslixhe street, in the north of the city, and another on C Street, in a new apartment complex in the south of the city. The third store in Swiss Mall opened in July 2019. The stores bring to the city’s retail landscape a high-quality shopping experience which includes a choice of fresh produce, instore full-service bakery, unrivalled quality own brand products, and high levels of customer service.
