With a retail selling area of 569m², this latest store welcomes customers with a strong fresh food offer showcased in attractive display units. The market-style chalkboard pricing system adds to the overall ambience. This department has an extensive loose produce selection in addition to a pre-packed range. The many service departments including hot kitchen, butchery, bakery, coffee shop, ready-meals, and fresh produce are located around the perimeter of the store.
The gourmet food section not only has a great offer of foods imported from around the world but also coffee machines which work perfectly for the full SPAR Natural range of capsules. A wealth of locally sourced items make up 70% of the total store offer. Currently, SPAR Own Brand products are gradually growing in number and turnover contribution.
The checkout counters, which are currently protected in line with local COVID-19 regulations, are manned by ten well-trained cashiers. Low energy consumption refrigeration units have been used instore, being just one element of SPAR Sri Lanka’s sustainability strategy.
The continued expansion of the brand’s presence across the island is bringing internationally renowned formal retail to an ever-growing range of consumers. There are plans in place to open more stores, increasing the support to local communities and SPAR Sri Lanka’s support for local producers.
