The most prestigious cross-country event on the European calendar attracts Europe’s top distance-running talent in U20, U23, senior, and mixed relay categories.
Türkiye will host the championships for the first time, with Antalya, the country’s fifth-largest city, becoming the southernmost venue in the event’s 30-year history. The championships will be held at Dokuma Park, offering athletes a challenging course that combines flat terrain with sand and mud sections, designed to test their endurance and strategy.
Following the excitement of last year’s edition in Brussels, which saw Norway’s Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal secure her third consecutive senior women’s title and Yann Schrub claim the senior men’s title, this year’s event promises even more intense competition. Great Britain, the 2023 medal leader, returns with talents like Innes FitzGerald and Will Barnicoat aiming to defend their titles in the U20 and U23 categories.
SPAR International’s sponsorship of the European Cross Country Championships aligns with our commitment to fostering sporting excellence and encouraging healthy, active lifestyles.
With just one month to go, athletes, spectators, and organisers eagerly anticipate this year’s competition. The SPAR European Cross Country Championships will be streamed live on 8 December through the European Athletics website.
