SPAR International is proud to announce that Tom Rose, Head of International Operations, has been appointed as Retail Chair of the Consumer Goods Forum End-to-End Value Chain Steering Committee.

Tom was unanimously elected during the steering committee meeting in April and joins a co-chair from Proctor & Gamble to head this important group. His appointment is in line with SPAR International’s ‘Better Together’ strategy, which includes an increased focus on supply chain collaboration.

Growing collaboration between SPAR and FMCG suppliers has contributed to improved performance within this area over the last few years. Through interaction at this level between E2E group members, leading international retailers and FMCG suppliers from around the world, greater opportunities for collaboration will be possible in the future.

Speaking about the appointment, Tobias Wasmuht, Managing Director of SPAR International said: “Industry collaboration is at the core of the SPAR strategy of delivering value to our customers in 48 countries around the world. With 13,112 stores generating a turnover of €35.8 billion in 2018, SPAR recognises the significant opportunities that increased industry collaboration offers in terms of reducing waste, improving efficiencies and adding value to the end consumer. At SPAR, we very much welcome this and are delighted with Tom’s appointment as co-chair.”

At SPAR, Tom is responsible internationally for leveraging the opportunities arising from the 246 SPAR Distribution Centres around the world.
