SPAR UAE launches new SPAR Express store in Abu Dhabi

SPAR UAE has launched a new SPAR Express store in a high footfall area of Abu Dabi. The newest store is near the city’s Investment Authority Office, surrounded by high-rise apartments and office blocks.

Convenience solutions

The store offers convenience solutions for on the go as well as top-up daily shopping options. The instore bakery has a self-service counter with both pre-packed and loose products, catering to all shopper profiles. This is also true of the fresh produce choice where customers can choose from loose or pre-packed products or receive service. The instore butchery ensures shoppers can find their choice of quality meat cuts.

Located around the perimeter, the fresh departments complement the grocery offer in the centre of the store. An attractive coffee corner, positioned near the entrance, includes a range of specialty hot beverages. The internationally known Insomnia coffee brand is especially appealing to the vicinity’s office workers.

SPAR UAE has embraced a comprehensive e-commerce solution. Customers can place grocery orders for home delivery, adding to the store’s convenience appeal.

Sustainability integration

Thanks to global best practice exchange within the SPAR network, the SPAR Express store has several sustainability features. LED lighting is used throughout, the refrigeration system is environmentally friendly, and all plastic bags instore are biodegradable. The 230m2 retail sales area is operated by a team of nine colleagues, providing high levels of customer service.

The first SPAR store was opened in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2012 after SPAR International granted the SPAR licence to Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society (ADCOOPS) to develop the brand in this rapidly growing market.
