SPAR Switzerland opens state-of-the-art forecourt store in Eschenbach

February 1, 2022 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR Switzerland on 20 January opened a new SPAR Express store at the AVIA petrol station along the main road to Eschenbach in the canton of St. Gallen. The 100m2 store offers customers everything they need for daily top-up grocery shopping.

The range focuses on a diverse selection of fresh foods, including fruit and vegetables, bread, dairy, and meat. Additionally, fresh cut flowers are available every day.

Another store highlight is the popular SPAR Fresh to go snack section, which includes freshly prepared sandwiches, salads and fruit bowls, muesli, and hot meals. In the Bean Tree Café Corner, customers can enjoy freshly brewed self-service coffee. In the store’s cosy seating area, customers can take a rest and enjoy a snack.

Speaking last year about SPAR Switzerland’s growing Express store portfolio, SPAR Switzerland CEO Rob Philipson said, “Today’s forecourts offer customers much more than just fuel and an expanded kiosk range. They have developed into actual convenience shops with a significant range of fresh food and takeaway food. In the forecourt segment, we are also constantly adapting to changing purchasing needs of consumers, and we receive positive feedback every day.”

The new SPAR Express forecourt store in Eschenbach opens daily from 6 am (7 am during weekends) and closes at 10 pm. The AVIA customer card can be used not only to pay for fuel purchases but also for grocery shopping. The SPAR Express team is led by Hearty Desirée Salierno.
